Flowers and trees in bloom (yellow pollen in the air), everything gets a fresh new start… including our Chevys! I hope those winter days and nights have given you some time to freshen up your ride, finish a restoration or start a new project. Now is the beginning of prime show, tour and cruise season. Let’s get out there!
We are practicing what we preach: get involved, help promote the VCCA in nontraditional venues, get more Regions started and participate in tours and shows.
We all have opportunities to attend and participate in local non-VCCA shows and cruise nights. For those not interested in 1000 point judging, there are plenty of other activities where you can have a lot of fun and fellowship. Be sure to take a VCCA banner and some brochures along with you…every group of old cars and owners is an opportunity to spread the word about the VCCA. Also remember that auctions are year round and if you are interested in helping staff booths at Mecum Auctions or other events, please contact me. Please keep your email address updated with us by sending a note to firstname.lastname@example.org.
My 1955 150 utility sedan and 1956 210 hardtop are being shown this year for their VCCA First Senior Awards. I’m working on an unusual 1958 and a V8 stick 1955 Bel Air sedan for next year’s shows. We always have something in the works …stay tuned!
The Vintage Chevrolet Heritage Foundation (VCHF) appreciates your generous financial contributions to preserve and digitalize manuals, sales training materials and catalogs. THANK YOU! The VCHF is how we save our Chevrolet and GMC history for future generations while providing access to rare information now to aid us in our restoration and preservation activities. The VCHF is a charitable 501(c)(3) organization to which donations can be tax deductible. For more information on how you too can help “save the past for the future” please go to the new VCHF website vintagechevyheritage.org or contact VCHF Treasurer Jim Amos (see p. 5 of this G&D).
Have a fun and safe Memorial Day! Please take time to thank those members of our armed services who have sacrificed so we still live in the home of the free and the brave. Please look through all the meets and tours featured throughout this issue of the G&D, then let’s get out there and SEE the USA! I hope to see you on my travels this season!
